How often do we put things off for the future, instead of living for today? Pretty sure you've heard of the mantra carpe diem which means “seize the day”. For years I put off things that I aspired to do for reasons that I'm not really sure of! I made several excuses for putting things off; my age, my education, my financial standing. But how do we make big moves in life and excel without taking risks and putting ourselves out there? Being comfortable will never be the root of success. Sometimes God plants certain ideas on our hearts and wants us to wait until the time is right, but other times he wants us to move immediately and get going. We must always remember that delayed obedience is still disobedience, and that can hinder the course of our lives. Sometimes God is waiting on us! Our free will doesn't just allow us to choose our way of life, but our course of action as well.
I know for a fact that everyone reading this has dreams, goals, and desires. We all have gifts and talents that God wants us to use and excel in. However, sometimes we limit ourselves and don't allow ourselves to shine and take action. The future isn't guaranteed what are you waiting for? The very thing that you’re putting off, could be the very thing that could be destined to launch you into your purpose. Do you know that God has predestined you for greatness? Instead of procrastinating and waiting for the right time, take a moment to do yourself a favor, and live your dreams. I know that it may require some sacrifices and a lot of adjusting but your future self will thank you. In fact, others will thank you because God's plans don't only impact you, but those around you as well. Because Moses obeyed God and didn't delay his purpose, he was able to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When Christ fulfilled his purpose salvation became available to ALL people. You never know which doors God is getting ready to open for you. You can't even imagine how many people will be affected by your obedience. Adam and Eve negatively affected generations, however, Abraham was blessed with generations. Your actions determine your legacy.
Take the time to write your goals, type some affirmations, and create a vision board. Because now is the time, it is happening!
